Student Groups

SAFE (Students and Faculty for Equality)

A student led group that invites faculty and students to have conversation around topics of gender and sexuality.  This group is similar to other school's GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) and meets during upper school lunch each Tuesday.

SLED (Student League for Equity and Diversity)

Sponsored by Jinni Durham

A student led X-block that meets on a regular basis to discuss topics around identity (race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, etc.).  This group was formed by former students after attending the Student Diversity Leadership Conference.

Conference Opportunities

Each year, Bosque School sends students to the NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) Student Diversity Leadership Conference, known by our students as SDLC.  While students attend a three day conference focusing on self-reflection, forming allies, and building community, adult chaperons (selected faculty or staff members) attend the People of Color Conference (PoCC).  The PoCC provides a space for reenergizing, dialogue sessions and affinity group work.  Students are selected through an application process each year and attend the conference in early December.
